It then eliminated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in the round of 32. Belgium defeated the Americans decisively, 4-1, in the round of 16. Their record was three wins and two defeats, with eleven goals scored and eight conceded. The run confirmed their reliability against mid-tier opponents, but not against a European quarter-finalist.
